Snowy day

Well... It's been ages since my last post and loads has happened; too much to try and fill in so I'm just going to start afresh and will make an effort to update much more often!

The weather here today rubbish. Cold, snowy and windy so we decided to have a morning pottering around the house. I did a little bit of house work but gave up fairly quickly because Madelyn makes mess faster than I can tidy it up!

Things were still looking grim outside so I decided to bake a cake, something I haven't done for ages and now I had a little helper too!

She helped me spoon out the ingredients and did a good job of mixing, although some did go on the chair/floor/drawer handle/her socks, as you can see...
Ooops

She put the eggs in...

She gave it a stir...

She was excellent at greasing the tin! I think because it is a bit like painting and I know she has done that at Catherine's (her childminder).

Then we put the mixture in the tins and into the oven.

Finally she helped me wash and tidy up, which was clearly the best bit...

I sent a picture to family via Whatsapp and Emma replied that she looks just like I did at that age and described a photo of me. I knew exactly the one she meant as I had scanned it and used it in Mum's 60th birthday scrap book. So here it is...

We do look quite similar don't we!
